Digital accessibility
Our approach to accessibility
Last updated: 09/08/2026
Our users are bereaved people, sometimes elderly, often unfamiliar with digital tools, who will only open this space a few times. Accessibility is not a box to tick here: it is what makes the service work.
Conformance target
We aim for level AA of a recognised digital accessibility standard. This target is part of the platform’s specifications and guides our interface choices.
Measures taken
- no informative text below twelve pixels, body text at sixteen pixels;
- a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 between text and background, measured page by page, including on coloured backgrounds and in small capitals;
- touch targets of at least forty-four pixels, suited to finger use;
- full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the content;
- a consistent heading structure, a single main heading per page, named navigation landmarks;
- explicit labels on every form field, and error messages in plain language;
- short journeys: on the decision screen, only one question is asked at a time;
- reduced animations when the user’s system requests it.
Known limitations
Some content depends on our users and is outside our direct control: photographs of items taken on site do not always include a detailed description, and the PDF documents we produce are not yet fully tagged.
No external audit has been carried out yet. This page will be updated when it is, with the conformance rate found.
Report a difficulty
If you encounter an obstacle, write to us at contact@lamaisonluciole.fr, describing the page and the difficulty. We will reply and, in the meantime, offer you an alternative: your decisions can always be taken down by phone and entered on your behalf, with written confirmation.
Means of redress
If you are not satisfied with a response, you may refer the matter to the Défenseur des droits (the French rights ombudsman), defenseurdesdroits.fr.
